Sent into the World — Bob Whitaker

Early in the Book of Acts the mission of the church became evident to all the apostles. It was a simple and profound mission. The church was and still is sent into the whole world. Let’s think about how we at ECC embrace this sending mission. Reading: Acts 13:1-5

Ministry to the Stranger — Bob Whitaker (8 Oct 2017)

This week we begin a three-part series on missions, which will conclude with our “Missions Weekend Emphasis” on October 22nd. Listen with us as we consider the themes of “Ministry to the Stranger” (10-8), “Ministry to the Poor” (10-15), and “Ministry to the Imprisoned” (10-22).

God’s Sovereignty and Our Mission — Bob Whitaker (23 Oct 2016)

From Romans 9:1-24. If God is truly sovereign, then he is completely in control of everything. If God chooses his own course for the future, using his own carefully selected people, then how do we fit into the picture? Is choice on our part even possible? Are the sovereignty of God and human free will in conflict with one another? Apparently, the Apostle Paul doesn’t think so.

The Mission of God’s People — Bob Whitaker (9 Oct 2016)

The mission of God in this world is inseparably linked with the mission of God’s people. When God blessed Abraham, the purpose of that individual blessing was instrumental – the world would be blessed through Abraham. In the same way the mission of God in our world flows through individuals–in this case, the church.

Glory Revealed — Bob Whitaker (2 Oct 2016)

This Sunday kicks off our month-long focus on missions! We heard from both Pastor Bob, who spoke on Romans 8:18-27, and from Dr. Jennifer Wilson, the spearhead of the hospital project being planned to serve impoverished communities in northern Ghana as part of the ministry of GRID-NEA and David and Brenda Mensah.

The Quantity of Mercy — Jack Larson (10 Apr 2016)

As part of our April missions focus on ministry to those in extreme poverty, our speaker Jack Larson came to us from Mission Emmanuel, a cross-cultural, relational, Christian ministry in the Dominican Republic. Sound familiar? Some of our youth and college students have helped them out!
