We were pleased to have David and Brenda Mensah with us this weekend. This morning, David took us through Scripture to remind us that Jesus is the Lamb of God. He challenged us to share this exciting news with those around us and encouraged us with stories of God’s work in Ghana.
See below for a transcription of the message.
Joe Farrell, our guest speaker for ECC’s 2014 Missions Conference, spoke to us about the work of International Justice Mission around the world to fight sex trafficking, slavery, sexual violence, property grabbing, police abuse of power, and citizenship rights abuse through rescuing victims, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors, and strengthening justice systems. He challenged us to make a difference, corporately and individually.
Our guest speaker this Sunday was Liam Atchison from Global Scholars, an organization that places Christian professors in universities around the world. His message challenged us to think outside the box as it relates to foreign missions. His message, “Living Missions: Come Sail the Blue Ocean,” focuses on Acts 19:8-10. In this passage we see Paul presenting the Gospel at Ephesus, but in doing so he took the path less traveled and it made all the difference. Yet, this was not the first time Paul had an apparently risky strategy. Could this have implications for how we spread the Good News today?
